Join us on Monday, September 21 at 7 PM for a hands-on journey into Peruvian cuisine and Spanish language at Atlanta's first Peruvian ceviche bar. Taught entirely in Spanish by Madre Selva Executive Chef Mayra Dominguez, this intimate class invites guests to prepare their own ceviche while learning the techniques, traditions, and vocabulary of a Peruvian kitchen. Chef Mayra will guide you step by step, allowing you to ask questions, practice your Spanish, and experience one of Peru's most iconic dishes from the inside out. Hosted in partnership with Atlanta Spanish Immersion during Hispanic Heritage Month, the experience is limited to just 18 guests.
Chef Mayra leads the class from the Chef's Table, moving between stations, answering questions, and guiding you through each step as you build your own ceviche. Along the way, you'll explore the origins of ceviche and its place in Peruvian culture, learn the Spanish vocabulary and expressions used in the kitchen, and put them into practice as you cook. The Madre Selva beverage team will also introduce you to pisco, Peru's iconic spirit, and the traditions surrounding it.
During the experience, you'll:
- Discover the history of ceviche and its place in Peruvian culture
- Learn Spanish vocabulary, phrases, and expressions used in a Peruvian kitchen
- Prepare your own ceviche step by step under Chef Mayra's guidance
- Practice your Spanish naturally as you cook, ask questions, and interact with Chef Mayra throughout the evening
Open to all Spanish levels and best suited to intermediate learners, the experience is conversational, approachable, and built for learning by doing. Chef Mayra will offer clarification throughout so beginner speakers can follow along and participate.
The class takes place at Madre Selva, named the #1 Best New Restaurant in Atlanta by The Infatuation in 2025.
Class begins at 7:00 PM on Monday, September 21. Tickets are $90 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Limited to 18 guests.
Attendees will also receive a complimentary introductory Spanish class with Atlanta Spanish Immersion, while current ASI students receive one additional hour added to their package. Non-refundable. No-shows, cancellations, and out-of-policy modifications forfeit payment in full.
